짐선더스는 영국인이며 캐나다와 한국에서 살았다.
그는 텔레비젼, 라디오, 인쇄 그리고 온라인 분야 저널리즘 경력이 있다.
한국, 제주에 사는 동안 그는 혼자서 잡지를 편찬했다. 그 잡지의 이름은 제주 라이프이다. 제주도 전역과 한국의 수도에 매달 간행하여 배포되었다. 그 잡지는 외국인 주민들에게 영어로 다양하고 유익한 정보를 제공하였다.
UWO에서 저널리즘 석사학위 과정을 공부하기 위하여, 캐나다 온타이오주에 있는 런던에 살면서 그는 캐나다 생활을 하게 되었다. 일년동안 공부하면서, 그는 시청기사에서부터 에리호의 기사까지를 다루었다. 그는 Rogers TV의 First Local 뉴스프로그램에서 일을하며 텔레비젼 저널리즘의 기술들을 매일같이 갈고 닦았다.
그는 지금 제주의 368개의 모든 오름을 오를 계획을 세워 노력중이며, 한국 미디어에서 종사할 계획으로 한국어 공부에 박차를 가하고 있다.
선더스는 일본, 러시아, 독일을 포함한 많은 나라와 미국의 많은 지역을 여행했으며, 아이슬랜드의 북부지방도 다녀왔다. 그 곳은 아직도 그가 가장 선호하는 지역중 하나로 남아있다. 
Jim Saunders is British and has lived in South Korea and Canada.
Areas of journalism experience include television, radio, print and online journalism.
In South Korea he created and initially self funded a publication for ex-pats living and working on Jeju Island. Its name: Jeju Life. Distributed across the island and to the country’s capital city each month, the magazine provided the only sustained English language information service available for foreign residents.
Upon arriving at UWO for his MA Journalism in London, Ontario, Saunders he threw himself into Canadian life. Throughout the year he covered stories from the steps of City Hall to the shores of Lake Erie and beyond. He spent time at Rogers TV: First Local. He honed his television journalism skills providing content for the newscast each and every day.
Saunders has, for now, returned to Jeju Island, where he is a Korean-language columnist for Headline Jeju, writing about the island’s social issues and current affairs. Saunders researches, writes, types, and prepares the columns himself all in Korean.
He also reports for Korea’s largest English-language radio station, Arirang Radio, every Tuesday night with Browsing Through Jeju. During the segment he introduces issues much like his Korean-language column.
Saunders previously hosted the Island Wanderer segment on Arirang Radio.
His radio repsonsibilites include writing script, conducting interviews, and going live on air alongside DJ Jenie to talk about the wonderful island he calls home.
Saunders has visited countries diverse as Japan, Russia and Germany and travelled the United States coast to coast. He has also explored the northern delights of Iceland, which, to this day remains a favourite travel destination.
