Jim Saunders

Digital Résumé

Jim Saunders is a British journalist who has lived in South Korea and, more recently, Canada.

He has completed his master’s degree in journalism at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario.

Areas of experience include television, radio, print and online journalism.

In South Korea he created and initially self funded a publication for ex-pats living and working on Jeju Island. Its name: Jeju Life. Distributed across the island and to the country’s capital city each month, the magazine provided the only sustained English language information service available for foreign residents.

Upon arriving to study in North America he threw himself into Canadian life. Throughout the year Saunders covered stories from city hall to the shores of Lake Erie and beyond. In January 2010 he spent one month at Rogers TV: First Local. He honed his television journalism skills providing content for the newscast each and every day.

Saunders has visited countries diverse as Japan, Russia and Germany and travelled the United States coast to coast. He has also explored the northern delights of Iceland, which to this day remains a favourite travel destination.

You can hear Saunders talk a little more about his experiences during the J-School Confidential podcast.
